A Fairy Tale Wedding

Always the DJ never a Wedding Guest… that was, until now.

It’s been 20 years since I last attended a Lesbian Wedding. A time when lesbian weddings were only but a dream for some. However, last night’s nuptials was the second in two months with possibly a third by year’s end. Cupid is out in full force. John Paul Young is right, love is truly in the air.

Gone were the days of eloquent weddings soley for the straight. This female courtship, had the makings of class and sophistication written all over it.  From the moment we arrived we could sense that this union was to be one of majestic proportions. From the beautifuly adorned outdoor gazebo accompanied by a live pianist, to the 11-piece live band inside.  All bases had been tastefully covered.

The bridal couple, formal and elegant. The bride was beautiful. With her sister at her side, she wore a gorgeous strapless off the shoulder cream dress. Her partner completely absorbed in the moment, was in a tailored black tails tux accented by a red Ascot tie. Her brother at her side. Joy and love evident on their faces as they happily exchanged vows. Photo flashes supplemented the late summer air as guests sat and watched joyfully while they too, impeccably dressed.

After the ceremony the couple and guests were escorted to phase two of the carefully crafted event. As you entered the cocktail room, each guest was greeted with a glass of champagne. The servers all in white elegant jackets complete with white gloves, made their rounds serving delicious hors d’oeuvres. The bridal couple welcomed the guests elated with hugs and kisses.  After about an hour, the next phase. The reception.

The reception was held in a beautiful majestic ballroom fit for a King and Queen.  We were all taken away by its breath-taking art, decor, and Crystal Chandeliers.  The exclusive attention to detail by The Castle was bar none. A touch of football was added to the elegant evening as the couple was introduced to the Monday Night Football theme performed live by the band. The tux waving a New York Giant flag, the dress, a Philadelphia Eagles one. The crowd loved it!  Applauding on their feet. You can hear chants of “E -A- G -L- E- S Eagles!” in the background. A French-Style sit down dinner followed by the First Dance, then plenty of booty shakin’. The cake was as equally delicious as it looked and the band, pulsating!   Playlist included everything, from Motown to Disco, Rock to Hip Hop.

Though the wedding was a true master peice, the most important fact here is this. Two souls proclaiming their love and devotion witnessed by friends and family, yet their gender and orientation didn’t matter. Take note world,  LOVE  has no limitations. Dreams do come true!

Best wishes to the wonderful couple!   “ALOHA!
